"Homework" 

In a notebook, sketch and label the  basic parts of a  residential wall.  Due Wednesday, April 8th.

• A - I are labels 
• 1-5 are common measurements
• #4 assumes we are going to install a 32" door.  What is the rough opening then?
• Assume the wall height is a standard 8'

"Alone in the Wilderness" video.

Due on Monday after spring break:

         2 page min....Typed reflection paper discussing the following questions.

1. What  base set of tools did Dick Proenneke bring to his jobsite?
2. List and explain at least 3 skills or qualities Proenneke used to complete his structure.
3. What do modern structures have in common with the cabin built in the video.
4. Why is it important to know how to do some things by hand?
5. Do you think you would enjoy working on a project like Proenneke's cabin?
